Ayele Begashaw grows and processes this coffee on his 4-hectare privately owned farm, Aricha. Sitting at 1,900m above sea level, his farm is ideal for the slow ripening of the coffee cherries, resulting in denser beans and a more complex profile in the cup. Just like many smallholder farmers in Ethiopia, Ayele makes use of organic farming methods that rely on manual labour. This coffee is very special as it is rare to be able to buy from a single producer in Ethiopia. In the cup, this coffee has notes of strawberry and mandarin, with black tea finish.
We roast every Wednesday and ship every Thursday.
