This Chiroso variety micro lot coffee was produced by Jorge Cuéllar and his family, on their eleven hectare farm El Encanto, in the small community of Urrao, Colombia. The farm is located at 1,980 above sea leved, in the rolling green hills surrounding Urrao.
Chiroso variety was initially planted in Urrao as it is suitable for the cooler temperatures of the region, and has a higher productivity rate than Caturra. Chiroso is recognised for its unique and complex characteristics and becoming more sought after by specialty buyers.
In the cup, this coffee tastes like blackcurrant and plum, with a black tea finish.
