Jigesa is located in Ethiopia's Guji zone, sitting at 1,851m above sea level. It is a family-owned washing station run by Mr Faysel A. Yonis since 2014. The majority of the families that contribute to this lot farm organically on tiny plots of land, averaging just two to five hectares in size.
The coffee cherries are manually processed by washing with clean water from the Mormora and Bishan Dimo rivers. The cherries are pulped and fermented for 36-48 hours in the tank. Then re-washed and dried on raised African drying bed. In this cup, this coffee tastes like apricot and orange, with jasmine tea finish.
We roast every Wednesday and ship every Thursday.
