Gachatha Coffee Factory started in 1963, situated in the slopes of Aberdare mountain ranges in Karundu, about 150 km north of Nairobi. The factory experiences moderate rainfall and temperatures range from 13 to 24˚C all year round, with deep, fertile red volcanic soils all around, the region is ideal for coffee farming.
The area surrounding the factory is a densely populated area, so the they put in every effort to minimise their impact, such as ensuring no contaminates run into the local waterways and protecting the indigenous plants surrounding the factory.
In the cup, this coffee tastes like blackberry and candied orange, with hints of jasmine tea.
We roast every Wednesday and ship every Thursday.
