Kieni Coffee Factory lies at an altitude of 1800 metres above sea level, between the east slopes of the Aberdare Mountain range and Mount Kenya. This particular region has deep rich red volcanic soil, ideal for coffee plantation.
After picked ripe cherries are delivered to the factory, they go through processing to remove skin and pulp, before being fermented overnight to break down the sugars. They are then cleaned, soaked and spread out on the drying tables for 7 to 15 days.
In the cup, this coffee tastes like blood orange and red apple, with juicy mouthfeel.
We roast every Wednesday and ship every Thursday.
