AYLA BOMBE, ETHIOPIA

Notes of Meyer lemon and nashi pear, with jasmine tea undertones.

Ayla washing station is located in Ethiopia's Sidama zone, in the village of Bombe. The washing station became a part of the Testi group in 2016 and now serves about 725 smallholder farmers in the area. Typically farmers in this region grow their coffee organically, as they don't have access to and therefore do not utilise fertilisers or pesticides in the production of coffee. 

Ayla is a good example of the unique nature of coffee grown in this area, it's both vibrant and juicy. In the cup, this coffee tastes like Meyer lemon and nashi pear, with jasmine tea undertones.
