Over 1000 smallholder farmers contributed to this Bourbon lot from Karengera Coffee Washing Station, grown on the volcanic soils of Nyamasheke District, in the Western Province of Rwanda.
The washing station is owned by C. Dorman, a green coffee company, who have been involved in numerous social and environmental projects that support the local coffee growers, such as providing coffee education, as well as distributing coffee seedlings, fertiliser, and pesticides. The company has also implemented a certification program which trains farmers on environment conservation and protection.
In the cup, this coffee tastes like dried cherry and blood orange, with a caramel-like sweetness.
