Established by Long Miles in 2019, the Ninga Washing Station sits at 1900 metres above sea level, in a remote region near the Nkokoma River, in northern Burundi. More than 700 farmers contributed their coffee to this station.
Coffee cultivation is central to daily life for the community here, and the washing station was built to support the local farmers and provide access to fair pricing and coffee processing facilities.
Despite periods of political unrest that forced many farming families to abandon their land temporarily, the region has continued to produce coffees of remarkable elegance and clarity.
In the cup, this coffee tastes like blood orange and red currant, with red tea undertones.
We roast every Wednesday and ship every Thursday.
