Notes of black plum and orange, with a honey-like sweetness.

Origin: Huye District, Southern Province, Rwanda
Varietal: Red Bourbon
Process: Washed

This washed coffee was grown by 103 women farmers, who own and cultivate independent farms in the hills surrounding Sovu washing station, in Rwanda’s Southern Province.

The farmers, members of the Abizerwa Women's Group and part of the Maraba Cooperative, deliver cherry on set days to keep their lots separate through processing and milling, to ensure traceability.

Cherries are pulped on the day of harvest, fermented overnight, then washed and hand-sorted, before being dried on raised beds or in greenhouse dryers.

In the cup, this coffee tastes like black plum and orange, with a honey-like sweetness.

We roast every Wednesday and ship every Thursday.
